Default JDM B16a transmission options

I have a b16a wtih a y1 tranny, I think my tranny' gonna die , cuz last time when I took it down the 1/4 mile, it occassionally didnot want to go into third gear... I've tried using syncromesh oil... but no go...I was thinkin about takin it apart & inspecting it, but I 'll do it when something in there breaks . I was also wondering if canada / usa tranny parts will fit into a y1 tranny.

What other trannies will fit into a jdm b16a ?

There are many threads about this in the "search" option.....i'll give you a quick heads up:
- The y1 is well know for worn syncro's, they car be relaced with better ones from a company called gearspeed.
- any cable b series tranny will work for you, but the vtec tranny's are much btter geared for the high reving, low torque B16
- the vtec YS1 is the best of the cable vtec tranny's to use, if can find and afford one

sell that y1 and get the 92-93 gsr trans. Heres a site that has them available. used but, still rebuildable. Just use the search on the site.

Call gear-speed and order a synchro set.
