its safe, i've done it a couple of times. you just have to compare the dc shock to the ek and you'll see how much you have to shave off the rear lca bushing

NO THEY DON"T!!!!!
Why do people keep telling eachother that. It seems like I have to correct this in every EK suspension swap post. Here are some facts...
EK rear LCAs are about 1" longer than EG/DC LCAs.
There is no way you could get away with using them on your DC. Your best bet would be to swap the coilovers onto your original shocks. Take the extra time & rent a spring compressor to get the job done. Especially if none of your DC shocks are blown. They can easilly out-last some Tokico Blues that you do not know the driving history of...

Bingo...If it were me, I would try taking the grinder and just shaving down the outer edge of the bushing until the fork will just fit over the bushing as if it were a stock fit. As long as it is only metal being shaven down, you won't risk any instabilities. This is of course an "easy" way of going about things, and you'll have to buy new LCA bushings if you try to go with teg shocks ever again. 94eg! has a decent idea about reusing your original shocks depending on the wear on them. Unless you KNOW the wear on the tokicos are minimal, i'd say that going through the labor of switching the coilovers out would be the "best" (not easiest) way to do this all. If you dont wanna rent the spring compressor, there are other methods of safely disassembling things.
