Type R trade in for s2000
Is the s2000 as big a theft magnet as the R? I would think it would be less due to being an in-line six. (hybrids)
Would it be close to the lateral performance of the R. I really don't care about the back seat in the R and a convertable might be fun too.

I don't think the S2000 would be nearly as much of a magnet, The R's engine can fit into any of millions of cars already in the road, but no other car uses or can use (without rediculous modification) the S2000's engine. Not to mention, it doesn't have the seats, and about the same amount are produced each year that R's were made in the last 5.
LOL.. It doesnt have the Seat?.. This isn't Dom (the normal user of this name)... this is his friend i own an s2000... IT may not have Type R seats but it his the LE Recaro's for the S2000.. Priced at 3,000 EACH from honda... hmm..type r seats?..

Are you smoking dope? Im sure a fairly light (2810lbs), perfectly neutral (50/50 weights distribution), thats RWD on top of that can outcorner the ITR. Obviously you havent driven one...

The S2000 does not weigh 2600 pounds -- the ITR on the other hand does.
Why the hell would Honda publish a higher weight than the actual weight of the real S2000? Im trying to think if there is any marketable logic at play but nothing makes sense... ?
I am not saying honda was wrong but just speculating:
If you remember Ford stated the 1999 mustang cobra put out 325Hp but in actuality it was only making around 260. merely 35 more than the gt. They are still recalling these cars and trying to modify them all to get the correct numbers.
things that make you go hmmm

first of all the S2k has a 2.0 liter engine with 240 hp and aronud 15X pd-ft of torque. i personally have seen more ITR's stolen than s2k's(b/c the B18C5 motor is one of the best and can be swapped into civics and other tegs). people wont steal the s2k specifically for its F20C engine b/c its designed for RWD and most hybrids out there are FWD.
as for lateral acceleration, the S2k will go from 0-60 in 5.0-5.4 seconds. they are quick cars. they are faster than your ITR. It handles better than the ITR(50/50 distribution, RWD, and much better suspension liek rollbars and strut bars).
Go for the S2K, its worth it just don't get silver, there are TOO many silvers ones on the road these days.

Much better suspension like rollbars and strut bars?? Any goddamn car can have those and still handle like crap. Yes the S2000 probably does handle better, but nothing in your post indicates that you have any idea what you're talking about.
