tdc sensor
My check engine light came on last night. I check my ecu and it came back with code 8. Which is my top dead center sensor. I've called several places and they never heard of such a thing. Can someone tell me another name for it? Where it's located? What it looks like?

you got the name correct ,i am surprised that several shops never heard of it????? you must have called K-mart automotive

Anyho it is top dead center sensor and as mom stated it is located inside the distributor and the only way to replace it is to get a complete distributor ....i have seen a few cars with code 8 that have no drivability problem just the lite on the dash ...
