Default Engine Light Still... On?

my engine light just came on the other day, so i checked the ecu to see what code it was flashing, it flased 4 long and 1 short (code 41) which is primary oxygen sensor, or heater circut malfunction. Any ways i was told on this that it was probually the primary o2 sensor so i went out and picked one up today specificly for my 1998 honda civic dx automatic. i took out the old and put in the new, and made sure the wires were connected to eachother nicely. I turned on the ignition and the little light that manages to **** me off so much is still on. soo i guess its not the o2 sensor? im just trying to figure the whole thing out so i can get out on the road without feeling like a neglecting idiot to a engine check light... any help would be good!

did you reset the ECU?try that to see if the code goes away.
also, check all the wiring from the plug to the ECU for any shorts or breaks.
