Default diff. Vtec sound when switching to aggressiver cams?

Has the sound of the Vtec changed when you are using Juns/Todas/Skunk................camshafts?

Is it now louder than with stock cams?

I think the bigger and/or the faster the lift the louder the intake noise......
Like a Type R compared to a normal B16A.

Vtec sound when switching to aggressiver cams?
I think the noise would be slightly louder.

However I've never used the "aggressiver" cams before.. Whats the lift on those puppies??

Sorry, had to do it.

B xover is very quite compared to stock cams.
That's because the non-vtec cams are already agressive....

actually, i did figure it out...it was a torn intake orifice seal. oops...i can't hear the switchover unless i'm in a tunnel or next to a long wall, and even then it's faint. but, it's still fast. i dynoed 194/132. i even impressed myself.

Toda - you lose the vtec sound?

ONLY Jun 3's - Enhances Vtec sound?

what bout skunk cams?

Thanks.

I'm looking into buying new cams pretty soon... so I need some help deciding.. Thanks...

I definately wouldn't base my choice of cams on the VTEC sound they produce. That being said, a rough indication of how the VTEC transition will be with a particular cam can be determined by comparing the respective sizes of the primary/secondary and VTEC lobes. JUN's primary/secondary lobes on their Type III's are not as agressive as say, those on Toda's Spec B's. This is why the VTEC transition is more pronounced, since there is more of a size difference between the lobes. This is also the reason why it takes far less tuning to achieve a "near-stock" idle on Type III's than with Spec B's. The Todas are idling on lobes that are roughly the size of stock ITR VTEC lobes, and this obviously takes some tuning to smooth out the roughness (unless of course you don't mind that sort of thing ).
