Default Japanese K series Type R cams

can anyone help me out with the engine number and type of cams on a Japanese K series SiR? ... lookin' to switch the ones out of my K20A (2004 civic si)

if you have a stock 04 Si and you have a K20a3 motor you can't swap the cams.

****, you're right ... it's cause of the two lobe versus the three lobe right? ... wat can i swap in there? wat parts are interchangeable between the a2 and a3?

the heads are diff. but the block is basically the same.

actually blocks are different. the A2 has extra oil squitors for higher RPMs.

you can do a head swap but I think frankenstein engines are not so reliable. If I were you I would save up for a Type S motor and swap. you get a better platform to start modding. or if you don't want to do that you can just do the regular IHE and hondata. that should still give you some power.

You can't install k20R cams into your EP3. THe heads are different and plus the K20R has three roller rockers instead of two from the EP3. To do that swap properly you would need to swap the whole valvetrain from the DC5-R onto your EP3 head except the valves. I dont know if it will fit. It is not like a interchangeble b series. good luck.
