Default Ditch B16 for GSR?

Im looking for some power, right now i have a stock b16a crx it runs ok but i want to make my friends type r hatch look stupid, because they keep talking ****.
Personaly I think his Type R hatch sucks because it got beat by my friends Gsr hatch. What should I do, Drop $1900 on a GSR engine, Or Use that money on some. RM M22cams with flat faced valves and some CTR pistons arp rod bolts. on my B16. and maybe later if im not satisfied buy a b20 since i would already have a bad *** Head with radical cams. Im really looking foward to some RM m22.
But i dont want to spend some money and still get beat by stock type r/GSR's
B16 people fill me in please?

Build up the head on your b16. Then save up for a b20.

I really think it depends on how you look at it....you could just buy a b20 bottom end right now and it would be a much better street car. It sucks having no power below 5k rpm. A b20 is way more fun

When i use mu friends gsr it feels torquey. But on top end it feels like my b16.
What set up does that Omni 200hp B16 Use, what kind of pistons and what kind of work does it have, all i know is that it had m22's. ?

if you want something toquey, ditch the b16 block. Just build the head, than work on the block or you can always boost

My fully built B16 is no match to my stock block B20V.

exactly what I have, a b16 is just not in the same ball game, maybe in a perfect 1/4 they could possibly compare....using a stock b20v and a fully built b16, but if you were rolling or on the freeway a b20 would smoke it at any rpm, its not fun to have to rev to 8+ to make power

I've had a built b16, no torque! I've had a b20, won't rev! A gsr is the best choice to get! Just decide if you are going all motor, or forced induction and build the motor according to your choice of application.

B20's cant rev? what do you need to do it to make it rev safely.
If this is too much I might consider the H22WBtranny swap. To have an OEM Rev safe Big block.

The B20 can rev; it just doesn't need to because its going to make its going to have its significant power/torque down low, and peaking hp quicker cause of the stroke. However, if one was to build it with some nice cams, then it would possibly make power up higher. Make it rev safely? Forged internals, w/sleeved block. . .and a good tune.

if you go H22 and are not gonna boost, I would rather choose the h22R from the euro accord

Wow way to to bump a 6 years old thread you trial user retard! And i'm sure a B16 with a "built" head will show a type r up. BTW the heads come "built" stock right, cause im sure you didn't "build" it in the factory assembly line.

Trial user retard or not~~~ I have beaten a modded GSR with my B16A from a stand still!!! Built B16As can be great engines and beat bigger engines (when launched right) if modified correctly.
