i have two b16 trannies beside each other. looking through mine i see a large pin or something, its not an lsd tranny. but i got this tranny with a cracked case and there is no pin through it so im thinking there might me an lsd in there. is there a way to tell?

 

The missing pin signifies LSD. If there's a pin, there's no LSD.

 

if its square or round does it make a difference?

 

I am kinda wording this myself. I have an lsd on my jdm gsr tranny but its not a very strong lsd and I am working if there is any way to tell a clutch type from a helical. Steve from hmotors told me that some clutch type lsd's have like a smaller round hole or something but I couldnt figure it out.

 

wont the phantom grips be square

 

 

if it has a cracked case the differential might have exploded, hence the lack of the bar

who knows hah

 

i know there is a pin on the non lsd diffs. but what im asking is if there is something unique to distinquish between an itr lsd and phantom grip. so once again is the phantom grip square when looking through?
