Compustar Alarm???
Hey I am an installer at the local Best Buy in my area, I dont understand what the big deal with the compustar alarms is??? I think they are peices of crap, it seems like a fancy audiovox paging alarm to me, I have installed them and dont think they even work all that well, why is everyone on here head over heals over them, I rather have a base model viper or clifford with a prox. on it any day. . .If someone can enlighten me on something I dont know please do so, and I mean no disrespect to those compustar fans and the ones who have spenty their money on it already. . .

I love it when people do this, they voice their negative opinion then say that they mean no harm... </TD></TR></TABLE> Ditto that
Not only that but he went out of his way to post it after posting it in response to a question by an H/T member about wanting an alarm, and after I had posted a recommendation about sticking with "brand name alarms" and how the install was very important, I also mentioned the DEI alarms and the Compustar, then he posted how the Compustar was a POS and how 2way alarms were NG because all the money was in the LCD remote and not the alarm, [kind of tells you haw much he knows]

if you read I agreed with you that the installation was a very very important factor in the alarms performance, I voiced my opinion on the compustar that it is just an alarm, the same as anything on ebay and everyone got mad, its the truth, there is nothig special about it plain and simple fnd a major differece between that and an audiovox pager alarm, and dont say range because come on now, the compustar is not going 6000 feet. . .. Clifford G5 Avante Garde 5 or dont bother, and for the truth no alarm at all that has ever been created can stop any car theif that knows anything about cars at all, the the Avante Garde is the only one I have seen stop shitty theives but if they know what they are doing no alarm or kill swith will do anything, also clutch locks, and clubs do nothing at all, invest in a "CAR BAR" it is the only thing that so far I have not seen anyone get around get it at pepboys only. . .

Now you are entitled to your opinion, but as an installer you should not be spreading misinformation, and that is exactly what you did and are still doing, on one hand you say nothing will stop somebody from getting a car if they want it and on the other you imply that a "CAR BAR" is unbeatable.
You want a major diff. between a Compustar and an Audiovox, how about 900MHz Spread Spectrum 50 ch. frequency changing technology, [developed by Firstech] it's what gives the Compustar it's 6000 ft range, [even if you can't get all of the 6000ft all the time] Audiovox does not have it, so is limited to about 1500 ft
As for the Clifford Avantguard 5, [G5 Avante Garde] it's not a 2way alarm/starter, also does not have the range of any Compustar alarm/starter , and is made for auto trans. only, [no DEI remote starter is made for a standard] the Avantguard 5 uses Cliffords IntelliStart, [a separate brain] and although a very good alarm/starter, saying things like, Clifford G5 Avanti Garde 5 or dont bother" or "the Avanti Garde is the only one I have seen stop shitty theives" is misleading, and BTW it's Avantguard 5.
