Which tire size? 215/45/16 or 205/45/16?
sup peeples! i just ordered me a set of 16x7 Volk TE-37's for my 01' GSR and im wondering which tire size to go with... im probably gonna go for Falken Azenis but dont know if i'd rather have 215/45/16 or
205/45/16... I want a nice tuck and my car is on a 2" drop.... right now with Blades on 195/55/15's and they tuck a little bit..... i was thinking 215 width would be a nice tuck with the 45 height but it might be too wide and i dont want too roll my fenders...any opinions let me know! thanx

215's fit. The rear needs to be trimmed a little bit.
Id say go 205's.
get a PAIR of 215's just for the drags...Only needs the fronts.

you'll probably want to go with the 205/45/16. I know if my tires were any wider in the rear, it would rub like a ****. Here's a pic of my car with yokohama es100's 205/45/16

Side wall would be wayyy to small..... I wouldnt run thin sidewalls on a set of volks!!!

What offset Volk's did you buy? That plays a role as well in if you will rub as much or not....I run 205/45/16 on my 16x7 wheels and a 38 offset. My car is much lower than 2" and I rub in the front a lot during tight turns like into a parking space and **** like that but its not a huge deal...I had the same dilema of choosing 215 or 205 and decided a 215 would be too wide for my set up and create even more rubbing issues, so I'm sticking with a 205/45 again when I buy new tires soon...
btw, heres a pic with 205/45/16s with the 38 offset for comparison...

you'll be fine, I wouldn't worry about rubbing with that offset and a mild drop...

i dont wanna run 40's.. lil too thin for my taste... scary too with volks.....dent one and gotta wait 3 months again.... so all in all.....205 be better with 45 sidewall and +42 offset than 215?
I've got 16x7 le37's with 215 azenis all around. No rubbing here. I have about a finger gap between the tire and fender

are you using a 40 or 45 sidewall?
rub when turning? how does it handle and what kind of drop?

I think the 215/16 only come in 45. I honestly don't know how much the drop is because I am using coilovers and I just lowered it until it looked good. There is a finger gap, so probably lowered 1.75". Handles great, I have no camber kit so there is some negative camber, which could help with the lack of rubbing. my next tires up front will be 225 bfgs, hopefully they won't rub, but I have a feeling they will at full lock.

I've got 215/35/18's on mine and have it lowered so the fenders hug the tires...Taking a corner too fast causes the rear tire to rub, but the fronts are fine...I vote for the 205's
