what can cause the battery light to come on?

 

the alternator is not charging...the main cause for this light to come on.

has the belt come off?

 

belts still on there, shouldnt the battery light turn off with the cel light b4 the car is started? the alternator worked fine b4 only thing different is the battery is now in the back but ive checked the connections they are fine.

 

Remove your front d/s wheel and remove the alternator. Get it tested for free at autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Get your battery tested and charged if needed too.

the "battery" light does not indicate the condition of the battery, but the charging system, which is basically the alternator. if the battery light is coming on, check the alternator, not the battery.

 

im willing to put money its the alternator.........everytime that light comes on in my crx's i know its that time......just check it to be sure
