comptech fw vs fidanza fw
What would you buy and why? Im talking aluminum vs aluminum. Im looking to match this to a cm stage 3 and an ats 4.9. i can get a comptech barley used for 300 or new fidanza for 189
I would rather spend a few more and have it new. $369.00 on the Comptech's site.

The only functional difference is the weight. Some people are willing to pay the premium for the extra bit of performance potential, and those people buy the Comptech. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Fidanza, hell I've had 2 of them.
Oh, and the Comptech comes with a blingin' sticker.

Comptech has 7lbs from that link. Are you really gonna feel the 3/4's of a pound? The fidanza is 7.5lbs.

as for feeling that small difference, I highly doubt it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Maybe you got the tight jdm joint
I've been interested in a flywheel for awhile now. Still waiting on my clutch to go so I can get one.

would you guys trust a barley used clutch if you were able to inspect it first? the deal is 600 for both barley used cm stage 3 clutch and a comptech fw...what would u do?...lookin at almost 900 for those two new

Weak flywheels are an odd thing. Any of the reputable flywheels available will stand up to racing.
As for the used clutch thing, I bought a used CM stage 3 from JeffS and love it. No problems whatsoever. I'm also using the Fidanza flywheel, which I chose because of price and the replaceable friction surface. 0.5lb means nothing to me, I can just take a leak before I hit the track

Realtime hasn't ran the type R in a few seasons now. The Realtime TSX and RSX use full Tilton setups now.

The Comptech flywheel has a replaceable surface also (at least their aluminum one, which is what we are discussing here).
For what it's worth, the Comptech flywheel has about double the fasteners holding on the friction surface than any other flywheel out there.

Ah, I actually didn't know that. Interesting. Still, the price thing is a no-brainer. And again, twice as many fasteners or not, I've never heard of a Fidanza failing in any way, high power engine or otherwise.

I'd have to agree. If the choice came down to a new Fidanza or a used (even "slightly) Comptech, I would certainly go with the Fidanza. However, both are great pieces.

from what I've heard fidanza makes the flywheels for CM and Comptech. I've never had two in hand to compare but the pictures seem identical. I believe they are all S.F.I. spec 1.1 so you should be cool either way. I've run the Fidanza on my stock weight 4door gsr for 6k miles with no chatter or warpage.
