Sparco Ring Steering Wheel Question
I am going to be removing the SRS system from my track-only car and I plan on purchasing the Sparco Ring steering wheel. Does anybody currently use this wheel and can you share your impressions? I like the slight dish, bringing the wheel a little closer to me.
Does anybody know which Sparco hub adapter I would need for a 98 ITR?

have it in my 86 civic. all leather, non-suede. i like it.. it's nice. i do have a 1-3/4 inch spacer behind it, cause i sit really far from the steering wheel.. (monkey arms, short legs... )
street car, though..

that wheel
in that CSP car.. was STS at the time..
my over-all impressions are it's good, comfortable to drive on long trips and on the track.. the flat-spot is nice cause it's a good place to grab, too.
have had it for 2 years, still looks pretty new. just take care of it with a little cleaner or conditioner. i had a suede one which fell apart basically.. that's why i don't have the suede one anymore..
although, i think i want a MOMO monte carlo now. this one is like 300mm. i want something a little bigger for daily driving.. like 330mm. can be a little tough with 235 r-comps in the pits/grid area.

Thanks for the info and pics. The Ring is 330mm according to the Sparco site. I wouldn't want anything smaller. Did you think it was too small?
ehh. yeah, i think so.. but i don't have power steering.. it'd be great for track days or road racing, but autocross, where you'd need some leverage it's not the best.. but then again i do only weigh 135lbs and am not the strongest person i know by far.
330, really? hmm. 12 and 3/4 inches.. whatever that is.. 320mm. mine is..
but it does make the car feel like a go-cart. and like i said, is really comfortable for around town. definately nice on mountain roads, too.

I have the Sparco ring (320mm) for my Camaro and it feels perfect! No problem with wide sticky 275/40-17 DOT race rubber (Nitto NT 555RII) and the flat spot is great for a handle in turns as E-AT_me says. Two events ago I swapped the Ring over to my brothers Integra and it was awesome there as well! I think the size is perfect, might even go smaller. The Integra running on Hankook R-S2 Z212's for the first time was on rails running similar times to what my Camaro would run. Turn in was instant and the steering was done by though! Never imagined a FWD car could handle so well! Understeer is basically non existant the way it is setup! Ordered a cheap aftermarket wheel from E-bay for him (the ring was only a temporary loan since the camaro was down) and installed that. With the new wheel on there the car just seems downgraded some and not as responsive. It's not a pleasure to hold like the Sparco Ring and it's about 1" larger diameter. Who can imagine a steering wheel making such a big difference in how the car feels! My brother is now hooked on the Sparco Ring and if we can find a used one for cheap (since he's going to college) then we'll get one. Stock steering wheels feel Semi truck sized after you get used to the smaller diameter Sparco Ring....and you'll start having withrawl symptoms because steering doesn't feel so good anymore. And lastly, your hands will rebel and go on strike until the stock steering wheel is replaced with the Sparco Ring!
