Default cabin air filter

Well, it was time to change the cabin filter. Much to my luck i don't know how to change it. I know the filter is located under the dash on the pass. side. Anyone has done this before.

I tried to replace it and happen to remove the air bag and after connecting the wire back on. The SRS light remain on. wtf.... I tried to disconnect my battery and reset it. no luck. I took it to the dealer and they said that the air bag firing is not working. wtf. all i did was disconnect the air bag wire so I could gain access to the cabin filter. My car still has warrantly, but that is not the point. I don't like taking my S to the dealer to get worked on. So much to the dealer where I am at. The have reputation of scamming people. Any people have the same issue here. I am more concern about the SRS than the cabin filter now. If you can help. I would appreciated. I will take my car to another dealer.

There's a black plastic cover that's under the hood (obviously). It's like a narrow shelf top of the fire wall. On the passenger side you pop it up, it's held by small, black plastic clips that look like rivits or screws. You'll see the thin, almost rectangular filter there. It just pops out.

PS Mines a 2000 s2000 and I didn't have any wires to contend with. Maybe some one else can help you with that.

There is a row of clips holding down that plastic piece, 7 i believe, and some in the corner and the back, along the windshield. No screws though, they should all pop out.

I did mine when the hood was already off. Probably made it easier.

As far as the SRS, theres a combination reel behind the steering wheels with a couple of wires. The plugs might have been yanked off. Check the wiring of this unit, then reset your ECU to test. Plugs are yellow btw.
