i've been going round and round on this topic honda had to put it there for a good reason . i know it minamizes vibration so what the cars going to vibrate to death for freeing up 3hp. or maybe all that vibrating is bad for long term use. i wanna try it but some awsome mechanics say it doesnt sound to smart. i just want it to run clean and fast.

 

the problem with the auto tensioner is that it fails and your timing goes nuts, not that it has too much vibration.

 

how does the manual tensioner free up power?

Are you sure you are not talking about the balancer shafts? Check the FAQ at the top of the board
