What is this????
I have a 91 hatch (STD) 1.5L with DPFI.
OK, when you look at the intake housing it a has a round black cover.
I took it off and inside there is a small dome cage over a hole that goes into the throttle body.If you look into the hole you see a butterfly(Metal flap) that opens a quarter turn and closes.It looks like it would be the throttles butterfly,but if you look past the flap you can see the throttle butterfly down below.
So,my question is what is the purpose of the first butterfly?
It appears to regulate the amount of air that is allowed to the throttle body?
If I remove the butterfly will that hurt any thing?
