I have a 96 accord v-tec manual transmission. sometimes around 4500-5000 rpms it just bounces back and forth and won't go over 5000. I shut it off and turn it back on and it's fine. Can anyone tell me what it could be? My check engine light isn't on either. thanks.

 

This may not be the exact same problem with your car, but when mine did that it turned out to be my distibutor. But since you have v-tech, your v-tech kicks in at about that same rpm.
