I am trying to buy parts from Honda of Japan however they want an identification number from the vehicle? I was trying to decipher the email but do you think they just want the year and model of the vehicle?

I know Japan doesnt have VIN's but their version of.

 

They'll want the chassis code and engine number before they dispatch parts. I have to go throught this crap every time i order parts from my local honda dealership as my car is a JDM car and even though i know the number of the part i want they wont order it till they confirm my chassis/engine code matches up...idiots!

 

So what if I have the tag number that is found on the radiator support? Is that not enough?

 

What parts are you looking to buy from japan?

Give them the chassis number E-DC2??????? and engine number B18C5??????

 

Well, I have a friend who literally lives walking distance from a dealership. I ordered something small to test it out but he came to say that he needed additional information.

 

do what I did, order your parts from a performance shop, I got all my oem honda **** from "twin cam" the very next day.

I would think that everything on that blue plate on the core support would be enough. Does your friend have all that info?
