Recently i purchased an EK hatch with a b18c1 motor and tranny swap. At the time of purchasing it the speed sensor was bad (the speedo would jump around like a 5 year old on crack). It was replaced with a new speed sensor before i purchased it and did seem to work for the first couple of days. Then it gradually got worse again and is now back to jumping around.

What causes a speed sensor to go bad? What should i look for when fixing this problem?

they probably didnt replace it and said they did
they might have tried to clean it or jus took it out looked at it and put it back in
