i have a jdm b16a with a 99 head my car seems to redline at 7600 rpms on ym stock p30 but i switched it out for a p72 and it seems to redline at the same. i thought the gsr is at 8000 rpms. could this problem be with my distributor? or my oil pump? any help would be nice

Tach has absolutely nothing to do with the way the car behaves.

P30 - 8200 revlimiter
P72 - 8000 revlimiter
right?

your stock tach could be off that much, either check it with an aftermarket unit or datalogging.

does the engine run out of power at that RPM or stutter?
your head could be installed wrong, could have the wrong cams, could have the gears a tooth off, could be lots of things.

Crome/Uberdata setups have a datalogging feature that tells you the exact engine RPM. If you have a stock ECU nevermind.
