Im looking into getting the motor, right now I have D15B7, and want to know what fabrication will be needed to put the motor in. Also what year would be easier to put in? The 94-97 GSR or the 96-97 Type R. Looking at either just want to know what I will have to do. Planning on getting the complete changeover. Thanks!
I would also like to add my car is auto, so would i have trouble with the auto tranny?

Ok, where to start on this one... either B18 should be fairly uncomplicated to swap in so there shouldn't be any fabrication necessary. Standard Honda mounts will do the trick. Use the search, there's a wealth of knowledge around.
And the transmission... you of course can not use your current transmission with a B series, it just doesn't fit. If you wanted to keep it an auto and still swap in a B18, I believe you're looking at a JDM spec B18C with an auto tranny, since no GSR or Type R in those years (or ever) was ever equipped with an automatic in the US.

yeah I wasnt sure if the motors came automatic so i dont know if the JDM motor has a auto also. i also knew of course I couldnt use my auto tranny since d is d and b is b. Thanks for the info It helps. Im trying to find a shell that is standard trans but cant find one here where i live. When i ask about one it sells pretty quick. As far as automatic goes what would be the best motor to get with auto tranny, that wouldnt need to much fabrication? Thanks for the Help!
Well I'm certain finding a JDM B16 with an auto is no problem, B-series in Japan are like the D-series in the US, they're everywhere. I'm not completely sure, but an auto B18 shouldn't be impossible to find.
Hmm, best motor with an automatic... hah, there's probably a ton more people that are knowledgeable about this... I'd probably have to say a B18B from an Integra LS if you're looking to stay USDM with an auto, AND not too much work.
Plus, you can always convert it to VTEC if you really wanted to, but that's not really worth the price with the auto since it can't handle too many more power-producing upgrades. Can I ask why you want an auto so bad?
