Problems with Valve bypass on the AEM cold air intake...
I don't have the pictures, but the inside part of the bypass broke into little pieces and got into the intake manifold and jamed open the throttle body...causing my engine to accelarate to max rpm, and I was from 3rd going into 4th and when it happend I took it of gear and pulled over. --> This is when you need AAA!
For now I have a new Valve bypass that has a ring inside of it. To prevent this inccident...?! this is what I'm guessing, but I don't trust it anymore...and I'm going to change it to stock real soon, because I don't want to deal with the pain in the @$!
Now lets hope that AEM will refund me for something, it cost me $150 to take my car out of the dealership.

You must have bought an "OLD" AEM bypass-valve. They recalled that ish about a year ago. Send it back to AEM and ask 'em for your expenses at the dealership. They (AEM) are usually good with it. 'cuz otherwise they will get their *** sued.
Thanks for the info. I hope AEM will refund me because I'm dead broke at the moment..., I want my car to be in warranty for now.
If you run the intake without the bypass valve, do you think you'll run any risk when driving in run-of-the-mill rainy days? I'm not talkingabout driving through deep puddles that make huge waves when you go through, just normal driving in heavy rains.
