Default Built D16 finally finished and running smooth!!

i started my D16 build 4 months ago and now its finally finished. It sports a Crower Stage 3 cam, Valvesprings and retainers, PM7 pistons, new rings, wristpins, and bearings. All new gaskets, arp rod bolts and headstuds. Kamikaze 4-1 header AEM UEGO wideband O2 and CBR 600 ITB's. It has a C/R of 12.6:1+ and is getting tuned with Turbo Edit. It is running really smooth and idles quite nice between 900-1000 RPM. It hasnt been broken in all the way, still have 250 miles to go before i take it really far into the RPM band. I still havent messed with the cam but it seems to be ok a 0 degrees. Im waiting for 500 miles so i can tune to 7800 and get it dynoed. Im hoping for 150 WHP atleast. For those who may criticize my decision to build this motor please dont, the build wasnt about power it was to test my mechanical abilities as a tuner. But thanks for all the support eventhough yall may not have answered any questions from me, the amount of post on the site was sufficient to answer majority of my questions. ill keep you updated on my power runs.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a D series build. My only issue is that LSD's are hellishly expensive for D series tranny's.

very true. My friend didnt get any LSD yet but he did swap out the gearing for 4.9's. Makes all the difference. His car is really quick on a auto-x track

You may want to rethink your header. It's good for SC'd but not great for NA.

Yes, i did headwork. I ported both sides a decent amount and polished the exhaust side. All done with the standard abrasives porting kit. The kit is really nice if anybody wants to know. Im workin on dyno time right now at Abacus racing.

That should be a fun car to drive, at least you wont blow up a 5k motor Just get the car a light as possible and a d can move it nicely.

Sounds like an awesome build. Once it's all tuned I bet you'll **** off people with GS-R's and Si's quite a bit... "it's just a D-series"
