Default rocker arm removal on 97 lx

I have posted a question on how to remove it and people said that the valves needs to be set or soemthing. Well I looked at my haynes and factory manual and it doesn't say anything about setting the valves. So do I need to set the valves?

it is best to put car on # 1 top dead center ,then remove rocker arm assembly, when putting together make sure that rocker arms are properly lined up over the valves before you tighten it up or you could bend a valve ..........why are u removing rocker arm assembly???

if your replacing or removing the rocker arm assembly you will need adjust the actual valve tappets on the rocker arms when you reinstall...they have the flathead screw driver slot on top surrounded by a 10mm...you will need to follow the instructions and set those to what the valve lash clearance in your manual...
although if your just removing and reinstalling and everyone is in the same location, assuming they were in spec before removal, you would probably be ok, as i have removed plenty of rocker arms and reinstalled w/o clearanceing with no problems, its when you start switching them around you will need to check everyone...
