Default Fuel Filter question...

i purchased oem honda fuel filter, it came w/ 3 washers: 2 that go on top around banjo fitting, and 3rd one.. the smaller one must go underneath.

while removing old filter i didin't notice that 3rd small washer..

so my question is, does anybody else use the 3rd washer underneath? do i need to use one?

I also replaced my fuel filter 6 months ago - but as the original didn't have a washer on the bottom I didn't think it was needed.

Car's still running strong.

I believe different model integra's share the same fuel filter. The third washer is for the other model integras to use. Not for the R.

Bingo!

Rodney was nice enough to change mine this evening, even though he was busy getting his car ready for national's (thnx Chris).

The 3rd washer is for a different Honda like his Civic that has a breather (pressure releaser) I might have totally miss-explained that, but the DC2 does not need it, he just tossed mine away.

Just change it routinely, as it's a cheap maintenance item.

If you're asking that question, I'd venture to guess you should change yours.

Default RE: Can't get bango bolt out of stock filter!!!

I have tried soaking the bango bolt on the top of the fuel filter with WD40 in my girls '99 EX sedan with 70k. Using a braker bar with socket on the bango bolt and a long wrench to hold upper filter fitting on the filter body. The thing will not budge, hat can I do!!

yes the smaller washer is for the pressure release, you take out the smaller bolt first to release the pressure then take the big one out , my question is whats that floaty thing do in the clutch fluid resovoir?

one under the top small bolt, one under the second bolt, and one under the fuel line. nothing underneath the filter.

i think under $30, the issue you describe sounds like something other than fuel filter related. maybe something related to fuel evap system, check timing spark plugs/wires and rotor, are you running stock ecu?
