Default CTR piston LS/VTEC pump gas???

ok, is anyone running 91 octane with a ctr piston ls/vtec pr3 head? if not, what gasoline are you using, or freehand mixture? i was thinking to fill a tank, go 8 gallons of 91, and 2 gallons of 104. any input would be helpful. holla.

lol, im looking for the same info.

since we will both be using neptune, servion says we can tune 2 seperate maps, one "detuned" map for 91
and one race for 104

bump for anyone that is running a ls crank/rode combo with ctp (pct) pistons and a b16a/b head

cmon, with all the lsvrtec here, im sure someone has one with ctr pistons in it.

if you have a ls vtec with ctr pistons and a b16/itr head, and you ARE NOT running 91 octane, what octane are you using?

it'll ping, just add a gallon of 110 every time you pump and mux it with 91

it's shouldn't ping.. i had my lsvtec with gsr head with the ctrs, timing up all the way and on 93 octane.. no ping no nothin .. i would say just run 93 to be on the safe said.. you your gonna run 91 than dont go for such high compression... i had stock ls block with them piston, i cracked a sleeve today with only 12 miles since rebuild

Cam selection is going to have a HUGE impact on how the car will run.

OEM cams *SCARY*
Mild cams (M20,M21, Sk2 St1, Toda A, etc.) *shiver*
cams with BIG primaries and decent amount of overlap (Toda B, Sk2 St2, Sk2 Pro1, BC4, BC5, etc) Yay!!!

Lowering your dynamic compression with overlap will make the high compression beast a lot more streetable.

cam you elaborate on this alittle.
i am building a setup similar to x-what-ever-his-name-is-x and i would like it to be streetable.
mine will be ~12.6-1 and id like to run a pump gas map (that still makes decent power)

toda B yes.. but i think with a skunk stage 2 style profile.. since the primaries are still small. it's still scary until you floor it and hit vtec.. haha your car will run better in vtec than off the big lobe!
