Default MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK?

okay okay okay...where should i begin...im torn between my options here and i just wanted your guy's input on the situation. Im trying to decide between b16a obd1 swap, build my sohc zc, or turbo the zc. what i want out of this is to get a realiable power upgrade as a daily driver. I think there is around 60-70k miles on my motor as of now and i already have the basic i,e,h, high flow cat short shifter..the lil stuff....so any ideas wud b greatly appreciated. thanx

i read some where that the b16a swap goes for about 800. but then i searched on sunrisedjdm motors and all of theirs are like 1300. and i dont know how much the install cost. i guess it mite vary from shop to shop... but i wont have time to do it and i wanted it on the road asap...soo...as long as im not spendin more than like 18-2000.

well, full swaps will be about 1400 shipped. you will need about 400-600 for the mounts and linkage. labor around my neck of the woods is about 800

in my town many people are doing great numbers with there zc but they are all turbo if i was you i would do what i did and do the b16 and spray 50 shot perfect daily driver good gas milage the flip a switch and you will go real nice faster then a turbo zc on your budget

i really depends on if u wanna go FI or N/A..the b16 is a great start since u can always go with a bigger block in te future if u want to make more power..but if u wanna go turbo zc u will be happy for a while but then u will get that itch for more power and probably come over to the b side...maybe even h or k...there are so many powertrain options for these cars that u are only limited to how deep ur wallet is...just do a lot of research about each motor ur looking into and decide urself what will be the best choice..

I myself am the definition of budget when it comes to turbo ZC. I have had my homemade turbo zc for less than a month now and . All i have to say is Wow who would think that i would be hanging with B16's . I myself still get the itch for my power though. So i see it as which ever one falls into your hands first and you can get a deal for do it. As in the Great words of my Freind. When the Boost Begins The bullshit ends.

but think boosting the zc can get you to keep up with b16s you put the b16 in you have the head start you always can save and next summer do a home made turbo kit for the b16 and you wont have to worry about single cams any more or what you could find a zex kit spray on the zc and be quick and save for the b16 then spray that when you get it thats best bang for you buck also the most fun beating the **** out of a zc not caring because you have another motor on the way

Skip the ZC all together.

The best bang for the buck is to boost your sohc it can be easily built to run 13's and be 100% reliable for under 1k.

very true if you need daily driver reliability do the b i would agree also. If this was strictly budget i would do the ZC but thats my opinion. The b is a could foundation for anyone starting.

No doubt about it. This would be the best way to go.

I have a turbo ZC and I still get 35 MPG

if you have a lot to spend...go b series...but if you want somethin turbo stay with your setup because doing a turbo kit on a b-series motor can get up there depending on what you plan on running with the setup.
