Painting Side Skirts
I have been calling around to different paint shops about getting my side skirts painted to match my car. So far Ive heard 200-300 bucks. Do you think that is too much? Also, how hard would it be to paint them myself?
first of all you cannot match the paint 100 percent(which the paint shop can), even with the paint code matching spray can.
200 sounds reasonable for a decent paintjob, but i dont know why are you painting your sideskirt.
they might charge more if your skirt is already painted but you decide to repaint them because you got a scratch or whatever reason.
it's not just paint, if you are going to do it yourself, you need to take it off, sand and smooth out the sucker, primer, spray multicoat of paint and last clearcoat.
paintjob is ALL about prep work, when you see all those ghetto spraycan paint job peeling off, it's not that the paint suck, it's most of the time, the guy doing the paint didnt do or didnt do enough prep.
