Any short shifter suggestions/recommendations???
I'm looking for a short shifter for my 2000 si and need some info. I see that there are a few different types: straight up, single bend, and double bend and don't know the difference. There are also several different manufacturers including Skunk2. I'll take any recommendations or suggestions. Please help...there are too many to choose from! Thanks in advance!
I have the b&m dual bend in my hatch, I like it alot.. the throws are so much shorter... only problem is somtimes it wont go into gear correctly and it will grind, this never happened with my stock one
I have owned a few different ones. I've had the Skunk2, DC Sports, cheap eBay shifter, and the Edelbrock.
I currently have the Edelbrock
I like how it bends to put the shift pattern closer to the driver. My 3rd gear is where the normal 1st is. It's very comfortable compared to other shifters.
Edelbrock gets my vote.

honestly a short throw hardly even ,makes a diff. no matter what all the ads say about how it will make quicker shifts and shave .5 a second off your et's. also its not good for your tranny. YOU WILL NOT BE FASTER BECAUSE OF IT.

yeah, but with my edelbrock shifter, it's nice having all of the gears closer to me. Plus my girlfriend really appreciates me not punching her in the knee every time I shift into 5th

Who said it would take time off your ETs?
And how is a short shifter bad for your tranny?
Yeah, if you slam through the gears you can put added wear on your synchros but you could do that with a regular shifter too. Does the actual shifter put added wear on the tranny? How?
Who would think that a short shifter would make you faster? Did someone say that and I just missed it?
I have a short shifter because I like the way it shifts compared to the stock shifter. Plus, the pattern is closer to me because I have the Edelbrock.

im with wilcox.. your an *** for making this statement... now back it up with research.
other than the honda world.. i find it really hard to belive that companys that make aftermarket parts made for american cars such as parts from Jegs, and Summit, which are geared torwards american markets, offer hurst.. ect. brands, short shifters, which litigate your theory of... "buy this short shifter, it'll **** up your tranny.."

That's what I have in my del sol. You will never worry about it breaking.

(bearings got all fucked up somehow). I'll probably end up slicing my ITR one and putting that on
