ek d16 into a ef?
i have a ef beater, and an ek which i plan doing a swap with. the d16 in the ek runs flawlessly, to the point were i hate to get rid of it. the question is do i go through to *** ache of putting the d16 in the ef, or sell the whole set up out of the ek, and buy a used motor for the ef. i'm not concerned about power, moreso reliability in the ef. if someone has pro/cons that would make this decision easier, it will be appreciated! thanks

It will drop in. Remember that this motor is basically the same thing as the A6. And as such, it is a drop in swap, provided you use your ED driver's side bracket and mount. You might also (but not necessarily) need to use your ED clutch and flywheel. Besides that, it is entirely possible to use your DPFI to run this motor. But upgrading to MPFI, using the 1988-1991 A6 ECU, intake manifold, distributer, etc., would be a MUCH better choice.
