91 honda accord "S" light on and battery drain
Hi there,
My wifes accord has been going down hill this last week. It started with her S light staying on (already replaced the speed sensor when it was blinking) and it stopped shifting. I was able to fix it by unplugging one termanal of the battery but now that doesn't even fix it. It also drains the battery within about 12-14 hrs. Is there any thing i can do to fix this or will i need a whole new AT computer? Also her driver side automatic seat belt stopped working and constantly beeped at her untill i removed the fuse when it was in the up possition. will i need a new motor for that? Thank you for your time and help!

Its a sport mode for AT accords. When you mean not shifting is it staying in a taller gear? or is it just not moving at all. Have you also tried jumping the codes off of the TCM aka tranny computer??

Yes it's staying in 2nd gear. I know this cause i can maunally shift to 1st second but in d3 and d4 it just stays in 2n'd. I haven't taken the trany code i'll take it in and see what it comes out as.

It's called many different names. The computer that controls the transmission. You should be able to jump the sevice check connector (in 92 molels it's a plug behind the passenger side kickpanel with two wires that is not connected to anything) You just connect (jump) the two wires together (paperclip works great) by making a U out of it and pushing it into the plug. Then when you turn the key on it will blink a problem code using the D4 light in the dash. long flashes and short flashes, three long flashes and four short flashes would be code 34. If you have a repair manual you could look up the codes yourself and clear the codes, if nessessary.
No scan tool needed.

I know that my local honda dealer would cover this repair for free... it has a limited lifetime warranty on those as long as u own the car... i dunno how close is a honda dealership to u, though... call or email them to verify...

TCM - tranny control module same thing different name. But anyway jump the codes with a paperclip as mentioned above. But kinda sounds like your shift solenoid to me but jump them and see what it says.
