Default Testing for leaks on practice exhaust welds

I've been practicing migging slices of scrap exhaust tubing together, and to check for leaks I've been filling the tubes with water and watching for dampness seeping out of the welds. Is this test sufficient to check for leaks, or should I pressureize the tube and spray test it?
