I'm going to Miami, West Palm Beach, and a few other places from 10/15/05 - 10/23/05...

Was just wondering what car related things I can do while I'm there?

Looking at:
- indoor karting
- HPDE
- Autocrosses
- car museums
- etc.

any links/directions/crazy comments are welcomed. I'll be renting a pimped-out Chevy Cobalt for the trip... oh yeah.

 

Let's see...

Moroso Motorsports Park is a bit north and west of West Palm. They have a kart track with rentals. Don't know any details about hours or pricing, though. They also have test & tune Wednesday and Friday nights if you're into drag racing.

Chin Motorsports is holding a track day 10/16 at Homestead, which is a couple hours south of West Palm.

The same day PCA is holding an autocross at the Office Depot center in Sunrise (west of Fort Lauderdale, an hour or so south of West Palm). That's where I'll be in all likelihood.

Equipe Rapide is having an autocross the next weekend, October 23 in Hialeah (down by Miami airport).

That's all I can think of at the moment.

thanks for the reply. i saw the ER autocross on their site, but, that's the day i'll be flying out.

I should be in Miami, Sat and Sun... got a condo rented in the Conrad Hilton... i don't know what it is, but it's apparently pretty neat.


what about indoor karting? anything near Palm Beach or Miami?

The place I was going to in Fort Lauderdale just went out of business; don't know what's in Miami if anything.

 

Yup Speed Indoor went out of business unfortunetly... it was fun.. you might want to check out the Chin event. They are pretty cool events to go to. You can also take the Rental car if you have one, on the track during the parade laps they have during the day...! If you feel like driving the track. As far as karting goes, if your staying in Miami you can visit Mega-racing down in Opa-Locka. I think they have rentals going on during the week. If not theres a bunch of shops that rent karts out...I think we still rent karts out down there as well..I'll check.
