running axles WITHOUT the c clamp locks??
hey guys, me and a friend just got done swapping a dohc zc motor into his civic STD
anyway upon installation of the axles, the passenger side fit in snug and fine, but the driver side wouldnt go all the way in and sit flush... (we tried forever) anyway we removed the other axle to look through and its going all the way into the gear, so we figured maybe its just the wrong axles we'll try to use them and see what we get ( 91 std axle into an si tranny btw)
anyway through all this my friend took the clips out to see if it would go in then, he didnt put them back.. if it were my car i would have put them back in but, is it a HUGE deal? seems like the hub nut will hold it on and the lockers are just a saftey deal, but for all i know he could get 3 miles up the roads and they could shoot out...

oh eah, try to make sure if your car is 89 or newer that you get an 89 or newer tranny.;
88 trannies have diff. spline count on the input shaft than the 89-up trannies</TD></TR></TABLE>
