hey guys,

i searched but no results...ummm...just got my 92-95 h22a from hmotors and just finished doing the recommended tune up and stumbled into a problem...i bought a usdm 4th gen (94) prelude vtec water pump from honda and the belt does not mesh with the teeth on the pump.....it fits fine..but jus the belt...i just noticed the teeth on the previous pump were "26t" and the one i bought from honda was "19t".. my question is what pump am i suppose to get...will the dealer at honda know what pump to get if i told him the teeth were 26t on the new motor? or just tell him i got a 92-95 jdm h22a?

any help will be greatly aprreciated, thanks

The teeth should be the same, I know when I went and bought a new water pump for the same reason (a JDM H22 swap) I just told the guy at the parts store that I had a 95 Prelude Si VTEC and that was it. It was the right part and didn't have to mention it was JDM.

Sorry for the long answer but oh well.

 

yeah, i just got back from the honda dealership...i did the same thing but i asked for a 94' vtec water pump.... well comes to showthat they gave me the wrong part!!.....i knew they did cause i knew the usdm version fit.... but yeah...thanks for your help
