NHRA made a rule (I believe last year) that disallowed all chop tops unless they were already built and certified before a certain date. And i believe they were allowing those cars to run this year (2005) and had to be phased out by 2006.
on the other hand, I do know of an EG rolling chassis that will be for sale in oceanside here shortly...

Hasn't the Skunk2 RSX roof line been lowered some as well? I doubt that they are disallow that car.

Yes i've also read that skunk2 lowered their roof, this is on k-series.com ("The RSX unibody has been integrated with a chromoly tube frame, which helps to make it lighter and stronger than most, if not all cars in its class. The roof has been lowered by one inch to give it an aggressive demeanor while retaining the stock look. ")http://k-series.com/news_details.php?news_id=36

It is legal for NHRA. The car was built many years ago and is just being finished up... the car doesnt go fast enough to certify the chassis.. the rule was made so people wouldnt build chop top but if it was built before a certain date it is legal
.. dont worry alex Tom will vouch for your car and said you can run it at a NHRA event
good luck with finishing your car...

that's what i thought.
it had to be built before a certain date, and had to be approved first. If it wasn't completed, then they had something like 1 month to contact NHRA, let them know it was in process, and send pictures over...

why would i care to ask him? dude said he planned on going vtec later...well, if he drops the LS idea..he can take the money he'd save from wasting it on ported head, valvetrain, cams,etc....but a vtec head and leave it stock, and make more power. then, later, port the vtec head and make even more power

I pose you the question why you didn't go with variable valve timing yourself? The STI has it and why waste all your time with the 2.0L wrex heads when you could just buy an STI.
Why does bisi choose to run a sohc?
Why do people still build 1.6L honda's
Why did I build a neon.
Maybe...just maybe they wanted to be different and not run a SC61 turbo on a sleeved 2.0: with a FULL-RACE kit in a Hatch. JUST MAYBE.
Or maybe they like beating people like you who shun all honda motors except ones with vtec, so that he can get his jollies off knowing that he proved you wrong.
I dunno. To each his own.

well...he said he wanted a drag car...right... so why try to build a car that more than likely won't be competitve....to only later switch heads
i wouldn;t have said anything unless he allready said he wanted to go to vtec later

well that's cool...but i still just don't see the reasoning behind wanting to build it up non-vtec...even though he, himself, stated he was going vtec later
