Default All motor SOHC Vtec

Anybody in here with that setup? I just picked up a 88 crx and am trying to do an all motor setup for the cheapest possible amount with the best results. If so, what kind of internals or work was done to the motor? Im aiming to hit mid to low 13s. (reason I'm asking I found a 95 d16 for $250 with decent mileage)

I don't mean DIRT cheap, but I'm talking in comparison to a dohc vtec motor. I know theres gotta be some people in here that have different setups than the conventional dohc vtec. I mean I have a built b18c1 with a 01 itr head right now on my present car. But I don't know what makes power on the sohcs, or if its even worth me investing time in the motor if all I wanna do is hit mid to low 13s with it.

I have a 89 civic std with a 95 D16Z6, 88 si tranny, intake, vtec controller, running off the header. I ran 14.7 with real bad 60' times (2.5 sec ) my tires had NO thread at all whith the stock std exhaust piping. I know I could do alot better with good tires. With slicks and a 60 shot zex kit I'll run mid 13s. A year ago I saw a crx with the same set-up i/h/e and slicks run 13.9. These times are with the cars FULLY gutted. It's not that hard you just have to be a good driver, have a good motor, and have it running perfect.

What kind of ecu are you using? Also, what fuel settings are you using on the vtec controller? I have a y8 with a pg7 integ ecu.
