Default Painting my EK FLAT BLACK.

I painted my beater flat black and it came out pretty good. But i didnt sand it down nore do any body work on it.

My EK has no dents on it and the paint is good. but i got in accident last year with it so the back is purple and front end is black.
its basically just my track drag car now. So flat black it is i dont want to waste $$ on a paint job and i love flat black.

Can I get any tips on doing a good paint job? What grade of sandpaper should i use when sanding it down ?

Sand each panel with random strokes. Use a good tack cloth and prep each area really well and use light coats. Also It helps to do it one panel at a time.

the purple is a tri colour paint and hard to match.. and its big bucks. I can get the whole car painted cheaper then just doing the front end purple

so im going to do it flat black for the rest of this year then paint the car next year

In my opinion do it right and paint it satin flat black!
looks like flat black without the flat but still looks good!

if you've seen the Skunk2 drag cars looks like that finish

I suppose the intercooler doesn't have to be aesthetically correct in order to perform well.

Let's see the rest of the set-up.

destroying the car already...buying an oem unpainted front bumper and rocking it as it is....is way better than painting all flat black.
