i recently did it. its not hard.
1.) Get high grit sandpaper (i used 2000) and soak in warm carwash water for 10 mins
2.) sand down the plastic until you have gotten off all the oxidation.
3.) wipe or buff (much easier) with meguiar's plastic polish
