Default b16 build up

My current engine is a d15b, with a bad tranny. I've decided to put in a new engine, a b16. i want to build it up before i put it in, so i'm not out of a car for long amounts of time. my main goal is to have a daily driver that is competative at the track, that will be capable of driving back home and then some. Ne suggestions? I've read other posts and most ppl seem to port, bore, cams, pistons, injectors, etc. I live in so.cal and am looking for a place to do the engine work. THeres so many, does ne one recommend a particular place(s). I checked on jdmpw and they have so many stages for the b16 , which is recommended. Thanks
