Default [B16A] Need some explication on "fuel pulse dampener"

Hi all. I would like to have some informations on this part installed at the end of the fuel rail. It is this one surrounded in red on this pic :

By removing the "plastic capsule" which covers it, there was a small screw which fell and which I can't re find (always in the red circle). It was not screwed, just installed in its place.

My question is to know what is the use of this part and if it's dangerous for my engine to run without the screw which comes in its center? Thank you in advance of your answers

PS : sorry for my horrible english , I come from Reunion Island (french overseas country in Indian ocean next to Madagascar)

That is the fuel pulse dampener. It smooths out the fuel flow and eliminates any pulsation due to the fuel pump or injector events.

Thanks for your reply. Is there any danger for the engine to run without it? I make a search on the board but i can't find any explications.

By accelerating, I hear a "pshitt" (like turbo lol) between 2500-3000 rpm and 5000-5500. Moreover, my car reaches 190km/h (about 118mph) and doesn't want to go faster since this episode ...
