Hello, we have a 97 Civic with the automatic transmission. In the manual it says to use Honda Premium Formula Automatic Transmission Fluid(ATF). I did a search, and didn't see anywhere to buy this fluid. Is this only available at Honda dealers, or can it be bought somewhere else? Thanks for any help!

 

I believe you may be able to buy it ONLINE.

I think if that fails you can fall back to Nissan ATF (have read a report of it operating.. better than Honda ATF), or any DEXRON II or BETTER ATF Fluid. Found at Autoparts stores. If you have to go non-honda make sure it's a reputable name such as Valvoline.

You could also try striking up a deal with someone who does live near a honda dealership through the buy/sell forum.
