Emergency brake light comes on when stepping on regular brake

Emergency brake light comes on when stepping on regular brake
When I come back to the car (97 Base 5spd) after having left it parked for a few hours, the emergency brake light comes on after I release the handle and I apply the regular brake before I get moving. Has anyone else had this problem?

I assume you are talking about the light on the dash?
Check your brake fluid, that light will come on if your brake fluid is low.

yeah mine did the same thing about a week ago. it did it for a couple of days but now it stopped. i dont know?
