Something in my GSR tranny went
So.... was at the track yesterday. On slicks. The car had made 30 passes on slicks and on the 31 she let go. But not without an 8.98 1/8th mile. So the **** clunks and carries on (bucks back and forth) while moving slowly.
Then... we drove it to a nearby place to leave it. On the way there, the car was trying to pull to the left, so I had the wheel turned a good bit to the right. Came up on a railroad bridge, and while going under it and crossing over a dip and potholes in the road, the tire(s) were howling. So then afterwards, when I applied some throttle in second gear, while the car is pulling to the left, it instantly pulled to the right. Let off and it went back to being pulled to the left.
So I'll find out probably tomorrow as to what the problem is. Cause we'll be pulling the tranny then maybe. I dunno.
PS: perhaps the Action 6-puck sprung had something to do with this mishap.
EDIT: The 30 passes on slicks had been a total from like 4 other days. It wasn't just one day of relentless beating.

Ouch. When the clutch and tires don't slip, something has to evenutally... If it goes into all the gears ok, it sounds like a differential problem. No telling exactly what until you open it up though. Make sure the case isn't cracked either.
Only really had time to get everything but the tranny out tonight. As I was glancing into the diff from the passenger side, we had spun the driver side hub (with the axle still in it). I witnessed the gears in the diff spinning constantly but the passenger-side hub portion of the diff would only catch at times.
Wondering whether or not I broke the ring gear or countershaft?
Not gonna know exactly until we pull the tranny and tear her open. Just thought I'd update the process though.
Peace.

For any future reference of Honda-tech members....
It was only the differential.
My theory... the spider gears in the diff finally buckled. Snapped a few off... think that a few got caught on the ring gear and pulled around the ring gear along the casing... along the way breaking some of the aluminum tranny casing off and pulling it through around the ring gear as well. Metal shavings and chunks all over the place. Counter shaft and all other gears were fine.
May my first B-series diff rest in peace.
