Default M22 Question

96 Civic hatch with a Gsr with oversized P30 pistons. Running with portflow valvetrain and Rocket M22 cams. Stock Honda cam gears. Vtec engages at 5800 rpm. Thing is anywhere under vtec the motor runs/pulls really good. But when vtec turns on it like bogs/hesitates but you do hear vtec cross over.

running an obd 2a-1 harness with a chipped P28 with a program for a stock lsvtec

any help is appreciated

tuning is key, especially with aftermarket cams, a generic chip wont give you the results you are looking for. Pm rocket and see if he can burn you a chip

Like they are saying, sounds very much like a tuning issue. PM me with your email addy, and I will have Rocket contact you about getting a chip burned.

r u running stock springs/retainers? you should definitely get some adjustable cam gears and get that thing tuned. you don't even have an AFC or anything?

just do it right or don't do it at all...

I'm running M22's as well and I am waiting on tuning next week.
I've got RM valve train too though. I am using stock cam gears as well and don't see a problem with it. I'll let you know how tuning turns out.
BTW I am having similar problems after Vtec, although I've had a chip burnt for me by Rocket.
