Ok this is really wierd and I know it's something simple probably but I can't figure it out yet!!

For some reason, my tail lights keep going out RANDOMLY while I am driving. I mean everything at the back, including the license plate lights goes out and then comes back on when I pull over to check it after someone else tells me it's not working!

At first I thought people were messing with me, until the cops pulled me over twice now for it. I tried running a new power wire directly from the switch,straight to the back, but it still does it. I even took a body ground on each bolt that holds the tail lights. STILL GOES OUT WHEN IT FEELS LIKE!

Its really wierd because the dash lights would still be working. Anyone have ANY ideas???? Now I have a curfew once it gets dark

UPDATE : Sorry I forgot to mention the car is 93 Honda Civic LX 4 Door

there is a harness ground, it sounds like it is loose. I dont know what kind of car you have but on a 93-95 civic coupe it is on the rear deck.

 

Ok, I ran a new ground to both tailights (I took it from the ground for the amplifier). Think that would fix it?
