Gas mileage in an auto EF?
My 91 CRX DX auto is getting a little over 38 mpg right now and I was wondering if this is kinda on target. I drive it with 87 and pretty softly, so I'm trying to get good mileage. But in any case, I was wondering cuz I'm going to swap over the manual and I want to be about to know if my numbers with and hf tranny can be compare to dx tranny in manual without there being something odd wrong with my engine, if that makes any sense. I hope so. Thanks for the help all.
In my opinion those are beautiful numbers for an auto dx....You must drive really slow
With the mileage youre already getting, going stick shift may not actually save you money on gas for a while since it will only yield a couple more mpg. Then again 5 spd is always better than auto

Well I'm at 3000 rpms at 65 mph compared to what I've heard as 2300 at 75 with the hf tranny, plus I like to cruise around at 1500 most of the time, shift at 2000, so I think I can get up to 45, plus it's not about the money, so that is good.
I feel envious, as I cruise on the interstate at about 3800-4000 RPM with my zc tranny (~85 MPH), and its loud.
Those numbers sound really good. I only get 38 on the highway. If you're getting that in town, that's incredible.

Well mehbe I ought to stop feeling so bad about it...but you have to think that even if you envy me it prolly isn't worth it to give up quickness for a b2 (sometime a z1...) and a supertall hf tranny (soon!).
