Default 1990 CRX SI / D16a1 Swap I call for all you Honda Gods to help me

My friend is doing a D16a1 swap. Why!!!

Because we have a CRX 1990 si and a D16a1 we got for free So we want to swap it in we also got parts from a 1990 civic wagon.

Im going to Bolt the CRX SI Transmission up to the D16a1 and drop it in the CRX and then move the driver side mount on the car to get the engine in.

My question is Can i just use the SI ECU and the SI Harness and figure out a way to get the Distributer from the D16a6 on to the D16a1 so I dont have to deal with Vacume advance.... Also is there any other information you can tell me...

Like does the D16a6 Transmission even bolt up to the D16a1 ?

He really wants to do the swap and get it running To show people it can be done because to many people just say Swap a ZC..

Thanks guys....

Or if all else fails Can he swap a D16y8 Head onto the D16a1 block?

Thanks

the distributors on the 88-89 d16a1's do not have the vacuum advance. just pick up one of those disty's and make your install alot easier.

I don't believe 2g CRX trannies bolt up to the d16a1. only the 1g trannies should.

I am assuming you have a 88-89 Integra d16a1 also known as a black top?

If you have that year you are good to use the Si ecu I believe otherwise if you have 86-87 d16a1, browntop, then no it will not work.

You can't just swap a browntops dizzy out and get the black tops to work. An adapter plate is needed. Also you can't use a d16a6 because of the same reason and because it takes some modification to work on the d16a1 head.

No you can not make it a mini-me either. d16a1 are somewhat of an oddball.
