civic transmission oil change
Hey im wonderin how to change the oil in my maual tranny....i did search but couldnt find anything, although im sure this question has been asked 1,000,000 times before

look at the passenger side of your trans.. there are to removable bolts on it... the drain has a female entry for a 3/8 ratchet... remove the drain plug and drain oil into a pan.... above the drain bolt is a 17mm fill plug.. remove the 17mm fill plug and fill the the trans from the filler plug... ofcourse you should reinstall the drain plug before you fill the trans with o.e honda manual trans fluid or 5w30 motor oil... You will need a sump pump to pump the oil into the fill plug... fill until small amount of oil drips out of fill hole.. .re-install 17mm plug and go for a drive...

You can just use a funnel and a hose to fill the trans up, but it is easier with 2 people. You can also fill through the VSS.

How would it be easier with two people? Ive allways open the fill hole and put it in the vss hole until it came out the fill hole, Stoped and put it all back toghter myself.
Im just curious on your methode.

I guess you're right, it's just cleaner that way. Getting the hose in there, hooking it up to the funnel, grabbing the trans fluid, taking the hose out without dripping all over the place, etc. It's just easier.

I guess you're right, it's just cleaner that way. Getting the hose in there, hooking it up to the funnel, grabbing the trans fluid, taking the hose out without dripping all over the place, etc. It's just easier.
